This policy explains what The Narrator AI collects when you visit the site, join the waitlist or play, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who this is for
The Service is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
What we collect
- Waitlist and account details: your email address and, once you have an account, your login details and display name.
- Game content: what you write in a session (character details, declarations and chat) and the narration, dice results and other records the game produces.
- Safety records: when our content classifier blocks or flags text, we keep a record of the attempt so we can enforce our rules.
- Usage and device data: basic analytics, such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location from your IP address, plus error and performance logs.
How we use it
- To run the game: generating narration, resolving rolls, and showing a session to the other players at your table.
- To keep the Service safe, enforce our Terms of Service, and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about the waitlist, early access and the Service.
- To measure and improve how the Service works and what it costs to run.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it with service providers who help us run the Service, under their own terms, including:
- AI model providers, who receive the text of your game (and the game's instructions) to generate narration. Text our classifier blocks is never sent to them.
- Hosting, database, authentication, analytics and email providers.
Other players in your session can see what you write there. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect people's safety.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as your account or the waitlist entry exists and as long as we need it for the purposes above. Safety records may be kept longer to enforce our rules.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or to remove you from the waitlist, by emailing hello@thenarrator.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honour them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. If a change is material we will tell you.
